Great doctors, disappointing reception staff. This is an ongoing disaster area. Seldom treated with any courtesy and no concept of customer service.

Doctors are all great. Getting to them is the problem. The receptionists, bar one or two are absolutely disgraceful. Inefficient, defensive and no sense of good customer relations. They misfile prescriptions and forms on a frequent basis and never apologise. Always a huge turnover of staff. Something going very wrong in how reception staff are hired. Waiting times are ghastly too - can be up to an hour or more before being seen.

Booking an appointment at the practice is extremely difficult. Recently when I called to arrange an appointment they would merely instruct me to call on a later occasion with no insight given as to the potential availability of an appointment in the future. This is extremely problematic as it makes it impossible to plan one's day around work commitments, when told to call the practice at 8.30 the next day without knowing if and when you'll receive an appointment. Furthermore given the fact I am scheduled to go abroad in the next few days, this uncertainty is particularly problematic as it will likely make it inconceivable to go elsewhere for treatment should I not receive an appointment beforehand. The system in use therefore seems completely moronic and furthermore I have always found the reception staff to be rude and seemingly uninterested in helping the patients, being largely indifferent to the inconvenience their inability to assist causes. On the few occasions I have been able to get an appointment I have however always found the doctors to be courteous, helpful and highly competent.

The process in how appointments can be booked is easy. They can be booked in person, over the telephone or online.If there are no appointments available to book, patients who call the practice in the morning before 10.15 am are offered a call back by the duty doctor. If patients call after this time they could leave a message for a clinician to call them back or book an appointment for another day. The number of appointments this practice offers is more than 50% above the NHS guidance. The Reception or Practice Manager would like to meet with you to resolve allegations that our staff are rude,unhelpful and uncaring. Would you please contact us as soon as possible.

I tried to call the surgery they seem to close for lunch for TWO HOURS every day and are also closed Wednesday afternoon That makes it very difficult to access the GPs as the answerphone diverts you to Barndoc or NHS Direct other GP surgeries are open 8am - 6.30pm - and often evening & weekend times too - why aren't you ?

We agree that if you only try to call us between 12.30 - 2.30 you will not get access to the GP's. You can however get access to our GP's at other times but not on Wednesday afternoon's and weekend's . The practice is happy to meet with and provide you with an explanation as to why this is the case.

The male receptionist when I telephoned with a general question/query was extremely short making me feel I was wasting his time and I felt he couldn't get me of the phone quick enough. This sort of person and their attitude is the reason all GP reception staff have a bad reputation. Aand I know they are not all like him. He is definitely in the wrong job as he should have a kind understanding towards people for in fact they are calling as they are unwell and so are reassured by a helpful manner.......NOT an ignorant one
